Mehrnaz Hashemiesfahan
Biography
Mehrnaz Hashemiesfahan is a PhD scientist in the µFlow Cell. She obtained her BSc in Biology from the University of Tehran (2015). She continued her studies to get an MSc in applied Nanotechnology from Saxion University of Applied Sciences (2019). During her master's, Mehrnaz worked on bactericidal activity bio-inspired nano-particles and nano-structures. She started her joint PhD in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Wim de Malsche (µFlow Cell) at Vrije Universiteit Brussels and Prof. Han Gardeniers (Mesoscale chemical systems) at Twente Universiteit (Enschede, Netherlands). In recent years, Mehrnaz has focused on processing techniques in microfabricating various silicon devices (Nanolab cleanroom, Mesa+ and MICROLAB, VUB) and characterizing flows induced by acoustic waves in silicon microfluidic chips with specific characteristics.
